“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”
Henry David Thoreau
There has always been something magical about the beach for me. Something about the waves crashing on the sand, the wind carrying fresh air, the sea gulls squaking, the gritty feel of the sand stuck in your toes. It’s always been a place to retreat, to re-energize and to renew. And so we spend as much time as possible at the beach. Every winter there starts to become a growing ache for the weather to warm up and for summer to begin, and so a little bit lost in the winter, we find ourselves wandering out to the beach in search of it. It is always far more cold that any of us ever expect, but somehow we still find a little bit of magic there. Even with our winter coats and a hot chocolate in hand.
