We’re not much into baking cakes around here, so when it came time for a special fourth birthday dessert, I strongly encouraged a trip to the bakery. I should have known. Of course, my little guy would have much preferred to bake his own cake. So we headed over to the grocery store, spent a good fifteen minutes in the baking aisle and planned our big baking debut. It was a two day affair … one day for baking + one day for decorating, resulting in the most “beautiful” chocolate and rainbow layered cake coated in tubs of chocolate fudge frosting and topped with sprinkles of every size + shape, pop rock candies, and eyeball covered gummies. We may have just started a new family tradition.
