Sweet Little Buttercup

This little delicious buttercup, who just happens to be the cutest baby in the world AND my nephew, dropped in for a 6-month photo shoot last weekend.  Of course, the weather was absolutely horrible the day of the shoot… dark, dreary, plus freezing rain.  Clearly our outdoor plan got scrapped very quickly for an indoor diy-studio shoot.  Didn’t seem to bother him one bit, though.  He just kept on smiling just the same.

And boy was there lots going on during this hour and a half… lots of outfit changes, two four-year olds running in front of the camera playing chase, a seven-year old that insisted on being my assistant and holding the reflector, and our two dogs continually photo bombing.  (Whenever my camera comes out, those two always take their spot posing.  Plus, you know, that sunny spot on a super cozy cream blanket was definitely calling their names).  And a very helpful husband of mine that did his best to tame the ongoing chaos.  So basically a regular Saturday morning in our house!

As the  Aunt, I may bit a bit bias but I have a ton of favorites.   These yellow hat poses are among a few of them.  And this beautiful knit yellow hat is actually a family heirloom.

My most favorite of all, though, are these next images.  To me, this is such a perfect image of motherhood.  Isn’t this our role as moms … having a hand out there anticipating a fall and being prepared to catch our kids at the last minute before they fall.  What a perfect, simplistic and timeless capture of one of those moments.

And a few of shots with Mom and big brother to finish off the beautiful session…
