Bridget is a natural-light family photographer located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Her two little boys (and many fur babies) fostered her love of photography & continue to inspire her to capture the timeless beauty of childhood. When she's not photographing or editing, she's also a graphic designer, a chauffeur, a dog walker, a dog groomer, a bed maker, a chocolate-chip-cookie-baker, a slime picker-upper, a queen multi-tasker, and
a nerf dart picker-upper.
She holds degrees in both Communications and Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has owned her photography business since 2017.
At Bridget Lynn Photography, I strive to capture the beautiful simplicity in a genuine smile, the twinkle in an eye, the mischievous smirk, the real spark of personality
that we all carry deep within ourselves.
Sessions are relaxed + fun with both formal posing as well as ample unstructured time for
true personality to shine through.. and for kids to run, play, and be themselves.
I know how stressful the day of a session can be. I've been there, changing outfit after outfit, last minute diapers and ending up a sweaty mess with a pretend smile on my face. I get it.
It's not fun, and you won't find any of that here.
1. What if my kids don't cooperate?
First, take a breath. It'll be ok. I'm a mom too. I've been there. And your kiddos will be fine. I repeat.. they will be fine. The best thing you can do as parents is to not stress out about it too much. Pretend it's an adventure. You would be surprised what we can capture with a little creativity & fun. Lots of time is build into sessions to allow for a few meltdowns, snack breaks, and a little running and playing with sticks & dandelions. Yes, your little ones will not get as much sleep as you wanted the night before. They will probably skip their nap too. And of course, they will fall down and have a giant scratch on their face right before you run out the door. Don't worry. I've got you covered. It's nothing that a few good snacks, some great editing, and maybe a bribe or two won't cure.
2. What should we wear?
Choosing the right clothes is really important, and I have a ton of tips. Also, if you have a full or extended session scheduled, you are always welcome to have a quick chat or shoot me a photo of your planned outfits.
3. Which session should I pick?
It depends what you're looking for! Want a quick update to capture a child getting a bit older? Then a mini session works well. Want lots of cozy family images? Then a full session is perfect. It gives us lots of time for everyone to get comfortable, kids to run around and take breaks, and time to capture all different images in multiple settings. Looking to capture grandparent cuddles, have a large family over 6, or multiple families? Then the extended session is the way to go.
4. Where should we have our session?
I did that work for you! I shoot primarily at a specific location in Schaumburg. It is open with room to run for little kids, has multiple settings including various bridges, tall grasses, gazebos, forest, sculptures, and a perfect white rock wall. It has everything we need AND allows dogs! So you can cross this one off your list of worries!
5. What will I receive?
All sessions include fully-edited digital images & printing rights. There are no print requirements or any other hidden fees. A few weeks after your scheduled session, you'll receive a beautiful online gallery which you can share with friends & family, download your digital images, and choose to have certain images professionally printed directly from my lab if desired.
6. When should I schedule a session?
Anytime, but try to remember the time of year for the "look" you're going for. Want bright & airy photos? Try a summer session. Want some moodier images? Try fall. Not sure what you want? Just ask! I'm here to help.
7. How do I pay for a session?
All sessions require a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold your scheduled date. The remainder of the session fee is due on or before your scheduled date. Once we set a date, you will receive one invoice with both of those payment options. You're always welcome to pay by credit card. I also accept Zelle, Paypal, cash or check.
8. Do you offer prints and albums?
Yes! I offer prints, canvases, albums, styrene & lot of other print products. Lots can be ordered directly from your online gallery, and I'm always happy to help create a custom print for you.
